Homemade Crockpot Applesauce

I had the privilege this year of receiving an entire bag of apples from a family at our church who has an apple tree in their back yard.  Now our family eats a lot of apples because we have been blessed with kids who love their fruits and veggies, but a whole bag was a lot.  Not wanting to waste these apples I decided it was time to pull out the crockpot and make homemade applesauce, which I know that Beth did as well this year. 🙂  Here is the recipe that I used and I loved how simple it was!

Ingredients

Enough apples to fill your crockpot

Cinnamon (I just sprinkled it on top)

1/3 cup water (mine was a little runny so you might want to go with less, or you could always drain it)

Directions

Peel, core, and cut apples into chunks (the only time consuming part)

Place in crockpot on low

Add in water and sprinkle cinnamon on top

Let cook until apples are tender and you have a delicious aroma filling your house (did ours overnight)

Mash or puree apples until you reach desired consistency and enjoy!

I jarred mine thinking that it would last us a little while, but between all of us, it was gone within a few days. 🙂
