Dear Readers

Dear Readers;

The past five months have been an amazing journey for Saving With Sisters.  We have valued and cherished your viewership to our site and your comments and likes to our posts.  We have felt a very clear call from the Lord to be done with our blogging journey at this point and hope that you all understand.  It takes a lot of time to write and put these posts together and we both felt that we need to prioritize our lives so that our families and our ministries come first.

As most of you know, there are many other blogs that have the same type of  information that we offer on our site.  We are going to list a few here that you might enjoy, if you are not already following them already. 🙂

Money Saving Mom: Crystal Paine is an amazing home schooling mom. Her values and budget-savvy mindset are the same as ours and she has a wonderful comprehensive website. www.moneysavingmom.com

Coupon Connections: Amber Bustanoby is a stay-at-home mom of 4 and has a passion for teaching others to coupon. She has deal match-ups, a coupon database, recipes and gardening tips.  www.couponconnections.com

The Krazy Coupon Lady: Heather Wheeler & Joanie Demer are the queens of couponing for sure.  Their sight includes a full list of printable and newspaper coupons, deal match-ups and other money saving tips. www.thekrazycouponlady.com

Skinny Mom’s Kitchen: Her motto is “where busy motherhood makes friends with healthy eating and weight loss”.  She gives valuable tips and tricks on freezer cooking and healthy eating. www.skinnymomskitchen.com

Blessings to all and may your savings and health be abundant!

Updates Coming Soon …

We are currently in the process of reworking our website, to make it easier to find the savings you are looking for.  We are currently brainstorming ideas together, if you have anything you would like to see added or modified to improve the quality and content of our site, we would love to hear your ideas.

Also coming soon, we will be starting our first give-away, so stay posted within the next couple of weeks for more details!!!

We appreciate our readers so much and couldn’t do this without you.

Please be patient during this time of transition as there may not be as many postings while we work through the changes.  We look forward to continuing to provide money-saving tips, great deals and other frugal ideas.

Thank you!

Love Letter to My Husband

I don’t know about all of you, but for Valentine’s Day, my husband and I usually don’t do gifts.  We find a nice way to express our love to one another or go to a fun dinner or movie.  I feel like our money is much better spent that way on a holiday that is about love.  We also try to make it a point to go on regular date nights.  It’s difficult with our busy schedules, but vital to the health of our marriage.  I would encourage all of you who are married to let your spouse know how much they mean to you today and how much you appreciate them.

Dearest Jake,

You are the love of my life, father of my children and my best friend.  I want you to know how much I appreciate your support and love for the kids and I.  Without your hard work and dedication to our family I would be able to do nothing.  You have made it possible to be in my dream job of being a stay-at-home mom.  I wouldn’t be able to save money, if you didn’t make money.  God has made us a good team.  Thank you for being who you are and for allowing me to be who I am.  After 8 years of marriage and 13 years of being together, I am still very much in love with you and hope to continue showing you that every day.  Happy Valentine’s Day 2012.

Love, Jessica

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all and may your lives be enriched by the love that you feel today!

A welcome from Jessica

Welcome everyone! My name is Jessica Hawney, co-founder of Saving With Sisters.  We, my sister-in-law and I, are so glad that you have found our site and just wanted to share a bit of why we have started this blog.  Our goal is that you come away from our site feeling encouraged and ready to take on everyday money-saving challenges. We do not claim to be experts, nor do we have all of the answers.  We are just two stay-at-home moms, in single income families, trying to make ends meet.  We are offering bits and pieces of our journeys and hope that you can take away something from them.

On our site you are going to find tips on homemade items, craft projects, home school ideas, couponing strategies, DIY projects, recipes, Christian devotions, inexpensive vacations, and much more.  We hope to give you a wide selection of creative ways to save money and pinch pennies so that you and your families can live without heavy financial burdens.

So let this be your starting point to get out there and save!

– Jessica

A welcome from Beth

Welcome to Saving with Sisters, my name is Beth Hawney and I have been couponing for seven years now. Jessica (my sister-in-law) and I have always loved working together and comparing notes on our frugal finds. I have also recently started making a lot of my own products at home in order to save money and can’t wait to share coupon deals and recipes with our readers.  I find that couponing and frugal living become a lifestyle and the more you do it the more you find every area in your life can be affected.  I am so excited to have our site up and running so I can share my passion for saving money with all of you.

I hope this site is a great resource for people hoping to be able to cut their budget down and live frugally. Being a stay at home mom I find that living on one income can be very tough at times and so I want to be able to share my strategies for saving money and making our dollars stretch as far as they can.  Stay posted for frugal recipes, tips for homeschooling on a budget, coupon deals, and other fun ideas.
